Artist Point Portrait sessions are always a dream, but this one with Rachael + Austin was something truly magical. These two got married three years ago, but wanted something more adventurous to celebrate their love—and what better place than the North Cascades? They made the five-hour drive all the way out to Artist Point, and it was 100% worth it!

The weather seriously could not have been more perfect. We started the day at Heather Meadows, exploring the alpine lakes and wildflower-lined paths. The light was soft and dreamy as we made our way through the trails, and Rachael +Austin were already laughing and having the best time together. They’re the kind of couple that reminds you how fun love can be—goofy, sweet, and full of pure joy.

As the sun started to dip, we hiked up to the ridge to watch it set over Mt. Baker and Mt. Shuksan. Talk about epic views. The whole sky lit up with warm golds and pinks, and we all stood there for a moment just soaking it in. (Also ran into my friend Henry who was photographing another couple—shoutout Henry!) It felt like one of those rare, perfectly timed moments you never forget.

Rachael + Austin fully embraced the adventure—dressed to the nines and totally down to wander through wild terrain in heels and dress shoes. They twirled, danced, laughed, and let their real, quirky love shine through every photo. It felt like a celebration not just of their marriage, but of their continued commitment to having fun together.

Artist Point adventures like this are the reason I love what I do. I didn’t want to leave the mountain—and I already can’t wait to go back!
