I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Introducing Mr. + Mrs. Paul!! You guys, Elly and Nathan had such a gorgeous Hidden Meadows Wedding on July 12th, 2020 and it was amazing. Their wedding day was radically changed due to the pandemic, so they had masks for everyone, social distancing, spaced out tables, and sadly no dancing. However, they were able to live stream their ceremony for all their friends and relatives from India who were unable to attend in person. With only about 50 people, these two still pulled off an intimate and beautiful wedding day. They had blue hues as their wedding colors, Elly had a stunning and perfect wedding dress, and everything about their wedding day was uniquely their own. Elly and Nathan were so fun to work with and their spirits were glowing with excitement. Their intimate and simple wedding day was so special and their bubble send off was on point!
What I really loved about their wedding day was how cozy and fun they made their day. Everyone was in such great spirits and excited; you could just feel the excitement and happiness. What was really cool as well was how they had each bridesmaid and groomsmen walk alone down the aisle. You know, to prevent the spread of COVID-19, but it also gave each of them their own little moment. It was unique and different!
Elly and Nathan met in high school and their mutual friend, Elly’s maid of honor, Chloe, was the one who introduced them. They went on a few hikes together and stayed connected through social media, of course. While they both went to college in Seattle, they stayed friends and would frequently have Skype calls with all their friends. Well one night, one by one, their friends left the Skype call, and it was just the two of them chatting. They talked for hours into the next morning and then every day after that. A few weeks later they went on their first date! How cute! 3 years later, Nathan proposed to the girl of his dreams.
In their own words, this is how the proposal went down: “Nathan told me he had to drop something off for work on Whidbey Island and asked me if I wanted to come along so we could spend the day together afterwards. On the ferry ride over, he said that there was actually no job to do and this trip was part of my Christmas present. We spent the day driving around the island, walking along a bluff overlooking the water, and having a picnic. In the early evening, we drove back into town and were walking along the waterfront. We came across a bench that had been decorated with lights, a decorative blanket, and a book that said “The Adventure of a Lifetime”. We sat down and began to read the book, which was filled with pictures and memories from the past three years together. Nathan had written a short story about our relationship, with the last page asking if I would marry him. Then, he got down on one knee, pulled out the ring, and asked me! I of course said YES! Afterwards, some of our best friends who were taking pictures and hiding around the corner came out and congratulated us and we took some more pictures together. Nathan and I finished the evening by having dinner on the island and visiting each of our families to share the news and celebrate. It was really the sweetest day!”
