Seattle really showed up for E + A’s elopement day at the King County Courthouse!
The kind of day where the light feels soft in all the right places, the air is calm, and everything just seems to fall into place a little more easily. It was one of those moments where everything felt exactly how it was supposed to.
We started the morning tucked away at Carkeek Park, right along the water, where the light was dreamy and gentle and these two just got to be together before everything officially began. There is something really special about slowing down like that before a big moment, and E + A did that so naturally. The way they moved through the morning together was so intentional, always checking in with each other, always making sure the other was ready. It was quiet, sweet, and honestly just really grounding to witness.
Before heading into the city, they shared private vows on the beach. Just the two of them, the sound of the water nearby, and a moment that felt completely their own. It was simple, emotional, and exactly what an elopement should be.
From there, we made our way into downtown Seattle for their ceremony at the King County Courthouse. While the courtrooms themselves might not be winning any design awards anytime soon, the rest of the building tells a different story. The marble hallways, the vintage elevators, and the little pockets of character tucked into every corner all add an unexpected charm that makes courthouse weddings feel more elevated than you might expect.
And then, just like that, they were married.
One of my favorite moments of the day happened right after they stepped out, newly married and soaking it all in. As we were about to head toward Pike Place Market, E turned to A and said, “Married, ok? Okay, for keeps!” and I don’t think I will ever recover from how adorable that was.
From there, we wandered through Pike Place, capturing little moments along the way. Laughs, kisses, and the kind of joy that does not need to be staged or directed. Just the two of them, fully present and completely in it.
They were surrounded by a small group of about ten of their closest people, all so genuinely excited for them. There were flowers, a cake, and a feeling of intimacy that made the entire day feel less like an event and more like a celebration shared between people who truly matter.
E + A’s day was simple, intentional, and full of heart.
The kind of day that reminds you that weddings do not have to be big to be meaningful. They just have to be yours.
And these two made it completely their own. Congrats to the happy couple!!
