Lake Quinault Lodge Wedding
Alright friends, Erica and Austin’s Lake Quinault Lodge wedding was beyond dreamy and I’m not sure you’re ready for it! haha Their day out in the Olympic National Park was so gorgeous, super rainy, but overall stunning. The rain storm hit right when we were supposed to photograph portraits, but Erica and Austin thought ahead and had a clear cozy tent (with heat!) for their guests during cocktail hour and after party.
I was there for two nights in the Lake Quinault Lodge super cozy fireplace room that overlooked the lake and the entire ceremony/ reception area, and let me tell you, I fell in love with the place. The staff, the food from the restaurant, how cozy and clean the room was, I will most likely be back way too much in future! The couple picked a perfect cozy venue and I hope I get to shoot more weddings here as well!
Anyway, we started their gorgeous day off with some getting ready photos + detail shots as well, I was so ahead of schedule that I took their puppies for a little walk, because, I love dogs and why not! Then we got them ready, a first look in the rain, and portraits all around. It started really coming down for their ceremony, so everyone was soaking wet and smiling the whole time. Once the ceremony ended, the rain stopped a bit for our bridal portraits, then reception inside the Harry Potter-like ballroom, and cocktails + partying out in the tent with some desserts. Their whole day was so cozy and lovely- I can still hear the rain pattering on the roof of the tent as everyone was having a great time.
Erica and Austin are so cute together, I feels like time stops and there’s this beautiful energy around them that just makes you smile and want a warm hug. These two and their pups are so gorgeous together that I wish they didn’t live so far away and we can hang out all the time. Spending the weekend with them was such a dream and one of my favorite weddings to date.
So this is how their proposal went down: “I purchased the engagement ring and had planned on taking Erica back to Bismarck to one of our favorite places but I wasn’t able to go back on the specific time frame that I had in mind. Instead, I waited until we were out walking our dogs on our favorite path near our house in Fargo and told her to go stand with the boys facing away from me for a picture and when she turned around I was on one knee.”
And here is what they are both excited about for their future together: “Austin: My favorite part about being together is that Erica makes me so comfortable and confident in any situation, she’s so smart and caring and funny that I enjoy the boring days as much as the exciting ones.
Erica: My favorite part about being together is that Austin is the exact definition of being a partner. He grounds me and helps remind me to slow down. We both work from home, and I love finding him throughout the day either to vent or goof off. When my anxiety is high on the day of the wedding, I know he’s going to be what calms me down.”
TOO CUTE! Thank you, guys, for choosing me to be your photographer and I hope we can adventure again soon! Congrats and I love you both! Also Oden owes me a kiss still 😉
