I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Artist Point elopement days do not get much more magical, spicy, or ridiculously fun than Megan and Mike’s.
These two traveled from Maryland back to the mountains that mean so much to them for an intimate wedding surrounded by just a handful of their favorite people. Megan and Mike are runners, hikers, travelers, and the kind of couple who genuinely love exploring the world together. They even named one of their dogs Shuksy after Mount Shuksan, so getting married here felt especially perfect.
We started their day at a cozy Airbnb in Maple Falls with getting ready photos, cake, and two first looks. Megan first surprised Mike’s son, Jack, who immediately teared up when he saw her. Then it was Mike’s turn, and Megan managed to make him cry too.
From there, everyone headed toward Picture Lake for the ceremony. In one of those completely random bits of wedding-day magic, someone preparing flowers for a proposal nearby offered to let us use her setup before the proposal happened. Suddenly Megan and Mike had this beautiful little halo of flowers waiting for them on the dock.
I also got to officiate their ceremony, making it even sweeter to be part of their day in more ways than one.
With their small group gathered around them, Megan and Mike exchanged vows with Mount Shuksan peeking through the clouds behind them. The weather was gorgeous, the first hints of fall color were already showing up in reds, oranges, greens, and yellows, and the softer cloud cover gave us the dreamiest light.
After the ceremony, Megan and Mike headed toward Huntoon Point for another very important part of the day, which was private vows and a hike.
Naturally, Megan started tracking it on her watch. Hiking to get married in the mountains definitely counts as a workout.
At Huntoon Point, they read their private vows, watched the mountains shift through the evening light, and settled in for a charcuterie picnic Jack and Gabe had prepared for them. We stayed out as the clouds turned pink and photographed until the sun disappeared.
The night eventually ended back at their Airbnb with a hot tub, a little chaos, and exactly the kind of energy I had come to expect from these two.
Megan and Mike are sweet, hilarious, adventurous, spicy as hell, and so genuinely good together. Their entire Artist Point elopement felt like them from beginning to end, and getting to both photograph and marry these two made this one especially special.
