I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Hope and Connor had a lovely mid-week Gold Mountain Golf Course Wedding out in Bremerton, WA. It was a gorgeous day, supposed to be overcast, but we got some sun breaks and it was so fun to play with the light. This entire day went smoothly and we got all the good moody PNW shots these two wanted.
We started the day at the Gold Mountain Golf Course getting Hope ready in one of their conference rooms, and then drove over to their church, Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. The stained glass windows were incredible so of course we had to play with those for their bridal portraits and some of Connor’s getting ready photos. The church, while beautiful, had some very strict rules for photography and it was a bit tough getting certain shots, but we made due. Seeing Connor’s face when his bride was walking down the aisle for the first time, was so perfect!
After the mass ceremony, we went back to the golf course for some portraits, reception, and cake 🙂 Hope and Connor had this awesome goth-style vibe throughout their reception with deep purple accents, skeletons in love, and more. It was so fun! These two also know how to dance and have a good time! They danced the entire night together after doing some golden hour photos, and Hope’s dress is seriously one of my favorite wedding dresses ever. The custom sleeves!! AHHHH! I kept saying she looked like Princess Buttercup from the movie, The Princess Bride. It was perfect and whimsical!
Okay, so here is how these two lovebirds met: “It all started in high school. We were part of a club in a competition that we made it to the state-level of, so we were all put up in a hotel in Tacoma for it. Between events, we were all being typical chaotic high schoolers terrorizing the floor we were on, and decided to all go down to the pool. The guys were being menaces and splashing everyone, and I noticed one girl I hadn’t really spoken to before but knew of as the sister of my friend Joy, sneaking around the perimeter trying to stay out of the chaos. She dips under the water and happens to come up next to me, eyeliner running down her face looking like the girl that got left at the altar in a romcom, and in my infinite natural charisma the first unthinking words that leave my mouth are “you look like a dumped trophy wife.” I MEANT that she looked very attractive even with her eyeliner running, but she splashed me in the face for it. After that encounter though, we kept noticing we were running into each other at the event and then later back at school. A few more awkward bumps into each other, and we were talking. That talking turned into a prom date, and after our first kiss that was that. I knew I could never be with anyone else.”
How freaken’ cute is that?! A huge congratulations to Hope and Connor! You two are perfect together and your day was perfect, too 🙂 Cheers!
