Helen and Matt had a stunning IslandWood Wedding out on the lovely Bainbridge Island, WA surrounded by their close friends and family. They all spent the weekend together like one large adult awesome summer camp and on that Saturday, we celebrated Helen and Matt getting married. Helen and Matt are way too adorable together- let’s start with that- these two are so cute together that when Matt smiles and sticks his tongue out a little, Helen just giggles more and the adorableness just gets way out of hand! haha These two finally getting married is the best thing ever and they seriously belong together forever.
This was my first time photographing at the gorgeous IslandWood wedding venue and it was beyond amazing. Also the staff- phenomenal! We were driven around on the venue’s golf carts all the way to this amazing treehouse out in the forest. Helen and Matt exchanged their private vows together there, and then we played in the forest before heading back to the main ceremony area to get married. Complete with a bubble officiant dancing and handing out bubble bottles to everyone, everyone there was smiling and just high spirits for being there witnessing everything. Helen and Matt incorporated some of their Jewish heritage by standing under a hand-made chuppah, made by Matt’s mom, and smashing glass at the end of their ceremony. All so mega gorgeous!
We then partied all night long. With an awesome cocktail hour filled with spring rolls and goodies, and of course bubbles, we had dinner in the mess hall (just love the summer camp vibes), heard the best speeches, and danced the night away with ice cream sandwiches and again more bubbles. Helen and Matt light up any room they walk in to together and it was such a joy to capture everything for these two lovely people. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them and we seriously need to hang out more! haha
SO this is how these two got engaged: “Matt and I took a day trip to Whitney Island in May 2021. We were on a hike at Ebey’s Landing, it was a beautiful day! When we were walking on the beach towards the end of the hike, I decided to dip my toes in the water. I turned around to tell Matt to join me, and he was already there getting down on one knee. He totally surprised me, I had no idea he would propose that day! When we got back to Seattle, he had also planned a BBQ with all our friends to celebrate!”
And this is their favorite part about being together: “We are very goofy together and have a blast whatever we are doing. We also are incredibly communicative and talk about everything. The mutual respect and adoration we have for each other is special :)”
They seriously are goofy together and it was just amazing to capture 🙂 Congrats to Helen and Matt!! Love you guys!
