I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Hana and Martin had a stunning The 101 Wedding in downtown Seattle in February! These two had such an amazing group of people gather to celebrate these two cuties and it was such a party. Hana and Martin have been together for a super long time and so they are finally tying the knot and it was amazing. One of my favorite things about their day at The 101, was Hana’s emerald green wedding dress. It was so unique and special, and she absolutely rocked it! Who says you have to wear white?!
We started the day off at the Washington Athletic Club hotel right in downtown Seattle, and was able to capture some moody getting ready vibes there. We then walked over to Pioneer Square for some bridal portraits and it was sprinkling on us a bit so we of course had to bring the cute clear dome umbrellas. The got married under the most gorgeous chuppah I’ve ever seen, and proceeded to have an amazing evening filled with sweet speeches, epic dance moves, the hora of course, and me almost getting knocked over and killed during the hora. It’s all good! Anything for the shot!
Here is how these two met: “We met on an app in 2017, a couple months after Hana uprooted her post-college life in the midwest and moved back to the west coast. We were both 24. We started messaging on a Wednesday, met for a date that Friday night, and that was basically it! Martin was sure this was the “real deal” right away. Hana was not remotely expecting to meet the love of her life right then so it took her a little longer to get used to the idea, but she got there eventually :)”
And this is how the proposal went down: “We had talked about getting married, mostly because we wanted to buy a house and Hana didn’t want to enter a 30 year mortgage without a 30 year relationship plan to match. Hana hates surprises and Martin is clueless about jewelry, so we knew a surprise proposal with Martin on one knee wasn’t our style. Instead, on our 4th anniversary we went out for Thai food in Capitol Hill (which is where Hana had been living when we first started dating, and where we lived together for the first time). We took a walk after dinner, reminisced about falling in love, and mutually decided to take the leap! It felt so weird (good weird – like omg are we really doing this?? yes!) that we actually kept it a secret for a full month, just to give ourselves time to get used to the idea. We got engaged on September 1 but didn’t tell anyone until October, when we were both sure we could say it out loud without freaking out.”
Hana and Martin are incredibly cute together, so sweet, always smiling, and it was such a pleasure working with them on their wedding day. Such an honor! Congratulations to Hana + Martin! May you have the best life together!! Cheers!
