I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Andrea and Travis’ stunning nuptials at The Lodge at St. Edward Wedding were giving “Gatsby” energy like no other! The Lodge at St. Edward State Park has the most epic and breathtaking architecture I have seen thus far in this wedding season! With this 1920’s inspired venue, we had to capture it all! I would do anything to wake up to this daily! It was giving so much “Gatsby” energy from the location alone, then you add these two love birds. It was a fairytale! Andrea and Travis also wanted a giant wide shot of the gorgeous Lodge building, so we were able to capture this just as the sun was setting on the building! Highly recommend this image if you are getting married there!
This venue was massive! I loved that these two got married down in the grotto of the venue (this adorable meadow area) and having their angel fur-kid, dapper Dexter was killing his tuxedo game in the GRWM photos. This party pooch even took to the dance floor with the crowd later in the evening! It was so precious to see this detail! This perfect pair was surrounded with so much love and support! I just loved how Travis hugged literally everyone. I know that may sound silly, however he is so tall, that he would lay his head on like his mom’s and bride’s shoulders when he hugs them. Just precious to see him hold all his favorite humans in his teddy bear embrace!
After entering to their own theme song and the 8 toasts (SO LOVED), the party lead into the night underneath the clear tents that let in all the starlight you could want to wrap up a perfect fairytale day!
Okay, here is Travis’ point of view of how the proposal went down: “I had been planning to propose to Andrea many times in the last 3 years but the timing never seemed right. I finally landed a job that felt financially safe to buy a ring, however, the ring took 4 months to be made. During those 4 months, Andrea kept asking me when I was going to propose as I waited patiently for the ring to arrive. Finally the ring arrives, I had it sent to Andrea’s aunt house so she wouldn’t suspect a thing. I planned a date night for Saturday night at a restaurant that we had been meaning to try. I knew Andrea wanted pictures of the proposal and wanted to look her best so I found and met with a photographer and told her the exact time and place where we would be where we proposed. I had Andrea’s best friend take her out for a “girls day” to get ready for our date night. I asked Andrea if we could walk in the park before dinner to watch the sunset, somehow, she agreed. I thought for sure she would was onto me. We went down to Lincoln Park, walked around until we finally made it in position of the photographer where I got on one knee and asked her to marry me.”
And their favorite part about being togther: “Travis’ favorite part about being with Andrea is being able to say any dumb thing that is on my mind and have her love and laugh at the dumb things that I say and do. Andrea’s favorite thing about being with Travis is how much I laugh when I’m with him. I think he is the funniest person and I become a giddy girl whenever I’m around him. It’s something that hasn’t fade in the 7 years we’ve been together and I hope it never does. He is just my best friend.”
So a huge congrats to these two cuties!! You guys are so cool and gorgeous- just like your wedding day 🙂 Cheers!
