I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Alright friends, I got the opportunity provided by Today’s Christian Entertainment media outlet to cover the TobyMac’s Hits Deep Tour at the ShoWare Center in Kent, WA last week and it was quite a production! They had basically a triple-headliner show and the MC of the evening was the lead singer of the band Building 429. They even had opportunities to sponsor families and children in Uganda with the non=-profit organization, Food for the Hungry, which was really cool as well. This was a sold-out show at the accesso ShowWare Center and you could feel it when everyone sang basically every song, guitar rift and bass solo. It was overall a giant worship church concert with most of the songs performed by Crowder were all church songs, so naturally they had those lyrics on the big screen like in a church service for people to sing along.
The show started with Jeremy Camp and they brought those classic Christian Rock band vibes and to hype the crowed up. Some great moments of the band members all smiling and having the best time on stage. Then came Crowder to the stage with all the classic worship songs, and finally TobyMac himself entered the stage from the center and no spotlight (setting the mood) then the party began with choreographed dancing, harmonies, bass solo, singing and trumpet sound-off’s and so much more. This was quite the electric show and it was so fun to photograph.
Being the press at this show meant that I could only photograph the first 3 songs of each artist, so that made for some quick running around the large stage area to get all the good angles possible. But it was so fun meeting some other great photographers, the lovely security guards (thank you again for watching my bag!), and I even ran into some of TobyMac’s Diverse City crew: the bass player, keyboardist, and a singer while I was waiting for the next band to perform on the floor. They were nearby and we started talking and they helped me with what shots to get in the first 3 songs. They were so sweet, helpful, and too kind!
Overall, the evening was awesome, I love doing this as a hobby and helping out different publications and bands with more photos and reviews. I am so excited for more in the future!
