Within Sodo Wedding | Kim + Patrick

Kim + Patrick had an amazing, gorgeous, moody, and rainy Within Sodo Wedding in downtown Seattle. These two had the biggest smiles all day long and it was seriously such an incredible wedding day! Kim and Patrick chose Within Sodo because of it’s unique charm, moodiness, and it just had the overall vibe they were looking for their wedding venue. It was overall stunning! They had long family style tables with candles all over, plenty of amazing dancing, even a money dance that was so fun to watch, and a beautiful sparkler send off in the back ally of the venue. It basically rained on us the entire time, what can you do, it’s Seattle, but we embraced it anyway with some fun umbrellas for their portraits. They are so stinken’ cute twirling their umbrellas together in the GIF below.

They had such a beautiful wedding and it’s honestly one of my favorites for the season. It was really fun to play with the lighting in this venue, as dark as it is, and to just create in a super creative space. Kim and Patrick are so perfect together and it was so fun not only capturing their wedding but their engagement session, too. If you haven’t checked that out, click here!

Alright, this is how these two lovebirds met: “We originally met in a nursing school pre-requisite class, Microbiology. However, we barely spoke and did not stay in touch after the class. We re-connected through an online dating website and met up a couple times before Kim forced Patrick to meet her entire family at her nephew’s first birthday party. We fell in love very quickly, Patrick said it first! We get along great with each other’s families, can relate on similar work, and love spending time and doing nothing together!”

And this is how the proposal went down: “Patrick originally planned on proposing to Kim on a family cruise that was planned right before COVID! So we ended up getting engaged on a family trip to Leavenworth! Patrick wanted to propose to Kim in front of her family, and knew the Leavenworth town square around Christmas (Kim’s favorite time of the year) would be really beautiful! Patrick asked Kim’s parents for their approval and had help from Kim’s maid of honor and sister-in-law in picking out her ring. Patrick was very nervous and during our photo op in the town popped the question, he almost forgot to get down on one knee, but Kim’s brother reminded him!”
