I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
One of the greatest ideas that my mother-in-law had when planning and getting everything prepared for our wedding last summer was to have an emergency kit on site the day of our wedding. YES! It’s the best thing you could have prepared to give you peace of mind in case anything goes wrong.
Now, it’s easy to get caught up in planning your wedding and not thinking about some minor details, but you need to think about the ‘what if something goes wrong?’ scenarios. Today, on the Banter, I’m going to share with you what I keep in my emergency kit for wedding days like my own and what I carry with me to every wedding I shoot as their wedding photographer.
This is just a mini emergency kit list of essentials, but guaranteed, they will save you in any crisis!
Hair Pins
Compact Mirror
Boob tape or Double-Sided tape
Scissors
Sewing Kit: Include white thread
Tweezers
Safety Pins
TUMS
Ibuprofen
Earring Backs
Bandaids
Tissues
Hair Tie/ band
Make Up Remover Wipes
Stain Remover like Tide To Go
Deodorant Wipe
SPRAY Deodorant- easy on and doesn’t leave white marks
Tooth brush and toothpaste
Other items to consider for your larger wedding emergency kit:
Mints
Coverup
Lipstick of your choice if you need backup
Back up pantyhose
Back up men’s deodorant
Protein bars / Energy bar
Shower cap if you plan on showering
Shower towels
Hand Lotion
WATER: Always stay hydrated!!!
Rain Coat
Change of socks/ shoes
Extra Spanks
These are just some of the basics that you should consider when putting together an emergency kit so you’re prepared for ANYTHING on your biggest day.
If there are other things to consider bringing for your emergency kit, Id love to hear it! Hope this helps for any bride planning their wedding day and hopefully this brings light to the fact that some things might go wrong. I hate to say it, and I don’t want to jinx it, but its true. Heck, stuff might not even happen at all and you might not even need to get into your emergency kit, but just having it there and available, will give you so much peace of mind.
Hope today’s Bridal Banter was helpful! Join in next Wednesday for the next installment of SJ’s Bridal Banter!! Woohoo!!
