I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Holy moly, you guys!! 2019 has been quite the big year for me personally and as a small business!! I seriously don’t know where to begin! This past year’s adventures have been so memorable, all the weddings were amazing, and I seriously have the best couples!! Just getting up in the morning and serving the best people I get to meet, that’s all worth it right there.
This past year has been a huge one for my little business. Shoutout to all my amazing couples that have trusted me to capture their stories and dance with me at their weddings. You guys are my favorite part of my job and I couldn’t do my dream job without you! This year has also brought some leveling up in my business like getting Dobby, my drone, being part of The Big Fake Wedding in Seattle, getting on freaken’ JuneBug weddings and Seattle Bride Magazine… like what?!! AND Oregon Brides Magazine’s Top 5 Most Popular Weddings of 2019!! AHHH!!
Getting the chance to completely rebrand and re-do my website, finding my voice as a creative, and to continue to find more ways to better serve my couples and love on them. I’ve had the pleasure of adventuring and exploring literally all around Washington and Oregon for weddings and engagements! From Orcas Island, to downtown Portland- it’s seriously been a treat to hang out with wonderful lovers and capture their personality and style. Capturing a Cambodian wedding in Oregon, a simple and elegant backyard wedding in Pasco, a Whidbey Island ferry ride engagement session, a workshop in Bend, OR, an epic campground wedding in Cle Elum, all have been incredible and days that have touched my heart fully.
As many of you know, I’ve been doing wedding photography for about 6 years and finally went full time in June 2018, so 2019 was my first FULL official year as a full time wedding photographer and it’s been the best year yet. So many wonderful memories- I still look at past weddings and remember the first dance song the couple had, or the adventure we had together for their engagement session. SO many great things came from 2019 and I’ll always remember them.
Personally, I’ve learned how to balance my work life and personal life- kind of. I don’t think there is a ‘my life is totally balanced’ moment that people have to work toward, but I do believe that there are days when you just need a mental health day and editing a few more photos can wait. It’s a LOT of stress running your own small business, and this year has really taught me to ‘slow down, look up, and stop acting so tough’ sometimes (quote from a Noah Gundersen song). Mental health is no joke and I’ve learned to really slow down and not think ‘if I don’t work one afternoon that my business will crumble’.
Overall! This year has been AMAZING and I’m just so proud of the work I’ve done, where I’m going in 2020, and my heart is so full with all the couples I’ve worked with in 2019 and the ones I get to adventure with in 2020.
So below, for my yearly reviews, I’ve compiled a few photos from every wedding I’ve had the pleasure of documenting. Some engagements thrown in, but every wedding is a monumental day for these amazing couples and it was such an honor to have captured it all for them. Enjoy!
And Cheers to 2020!!
