Hey guys!! We’re about to get into the 2020 wedding season and there are some brand new trends and traditions that are coming into the whole industry. Today we’re chatting all about the Top Wedding Trends of 2020. So if you’re planning your 2020 wedding and are wanting to see what’s super trendy or traditions to think about for events at your reception, or anything, this post is for you!! There are tons of fun new trends coming to wedding next year so here we go!
There are tons of new food trends couples are doing to make their catering more personalized and interactive. Couples like to have their guests have something to do while they are hanging out doing cocktail hour instead of just grabbing some snacks and a drink. Some interactive trends for food are things like serve your self little bar carts. You know those cute little trailers that have you pour your own beer or grab a cocktail.
Cultural cuisines. More couples are integrating and embracing their culture with bringing in their own culture’s food selection and mixing and matching both sides of the families’ culture. I love seeing how couples are bringing in more of their personality and their heritage, so this is really fun to see! And eat!
Another big Food trend is that couples are now bringing in more of an elevated experience with food in a way that shows off the food- like having the cake pops showcased more, or the display of the food is more interesting and fun; instead of family style serving from a hot plate. Couples are finding cool ways to show off their catering choices.

There is totally a trend, we’re already seeing this actually, but more couples are adding more bolder colors and details throughout their wedding ceremony/ reception. Like bold colors, bold napkins, just little pops of bright color throughout to bring more elements and a fun decorations around your reception. We’re seeing this in bridesmaids colors with various colors instead of one color all around, and fun bright colors that allow them to stand out and add a fun color to your party.
Holographic details! Like paper goods have more of a holograph element to that, napkins, and more of a 90’s Theme weddings with glow sticks and more throwback details (even Lisa Frank style). This not only is an awesome fun element to implement into your wedding decor, but it also reflects more of your bold colors so it could fill your reception more with your main wedding colors as it’s reflecting.

A lot more people are more conscious of wanting to me eco-friendly and bringing that into their wedding ceremony and reception. Couples are making sure there are no waste for their wedding day, they’re sourcing their food/ catering locally, and repurposing details from their wedding.
Examples are:
Repurposing ceremony flowers at reception or giving away flowers to charity.
Couples giving charitable donations instead of favors or asking for gifts; more couples are asking their guests to give to charity instead of a blender.
Bio-degradable invitations, napkins, cups, and other paper goods from their celebration.
Avoiding one-drink cups or straws or string sticks. People are wanting to use more cardboard straws also to help prevent harmful waste.
Getting a caterer that is local and sources their food from local farms, cage free animals, etc.
Donating any leftover food to homeless shelters or other organizations that might need food.
So lots of different options to keep their wedding eco-friendly and prevent as much waste as possible. Save the planet, right?!

We’ve all seen those elegant minimalist wedding suites that are simple and awesome, well now these type of suites are trending in 2020! I personally love minimalistic styles so this one I am really excited to see. Couples are not interested in a flashy save the date or an invitation anymore. It’s more mature, elegant, and simple. So be on the look out for some simple and minimalistic invites!

Neon lighting is super trending in 2020! More couples are having fun neon lights throughout their gift tables, food tables, the bar, or even something fun above the head table. These signs can be hard to photograph, but they are super fun, different, retro, and different.
Couples like to pair this with more geometric shapes and lighting so the 90’s theme is continued and it’s all consistent. Lighting also adds a fun element to the wedding that’s easy to implement and a great throwback.

Couples also love to bring in more personalized elements to their weddings and have a more fun experience that they love. We’re seeing more bouncy houses, more personalized neon signs with their names in it, buttons that have their faces on it, anything that is a fun experience and making their wedding different from everyone else they know.
This is my favorite trend because their day is really about them and getting into more of a trend that brings who they are into their decorations and their food even, is so much fun! Love this and I can’t wait to see more this year!
