I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Liz and Dan had a stunning Anderson Lodge Wedding out in the Mt. St. Helens area in Ariel, WA and it was incredible! This lodge campground venue is so cozy and all about the PNW forest vibes. It was so cool and they have so many cabins and campsites! If you want all your forest wedding style photos, you’ve come to the right place. Liz and Dan love the outdoors and are always hiking somewhere so it was perfectly fitting for the to get married at the Anderson Lodge. They stayed the whole weekend with their friends and family all staying with them having campfires, bunk assignments, and all the fun summer camp feels.
Their getting ready cabins alone are so cool and nestled among all the trees with moss falling all around them. Twinkle lights were hung and on all day throughout the entire venue and it was just all magical. I love the reception area being surrounded by mossy trees and lights. It’s so cozy and I just fell in love with this place! I emailed the venue manager a link to Liz and Dan’s gallery and she came back saying her first wedding at the lodge was her own and her husband built it by himself. She wrote: “The Main Lodge has a special place in our hearts. We built it first and actually, my husband and I were the first wedding here in 1985. It is wonderful to see a beautiful celebration here. My husband has built it primarily by himself so it is especially gratifying to see these photos.”. How special is that?!
Liz and Dan, and their puppy Gus, were so stunning in this space and looked like they felt right at home. Their family and friends were so fun to hang out with and had some amazing dance moves. At the end of the night they all played musical chairs together that got somewhat a little violent as it got down to the remaining few people, but it was so much fun to watch and capture! Liz changed into this adorable silk jumpsuit to continue the party in and it all was such an amazing day!
This is how Liz and Dan met: ”
Liz and Dan met at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. When Liz saw all the ski posters in Dan’s room at Kappa Sigma, she knew it was meant to be. So it’s no surprise that Liz and Dan’s first date was watching the critically-acclaimed ski film Gnar while drinking rum and cokes. The pair recreate this first date every year in August, because of course, this is the best time of year to gear up for ski season.
Dan came with some great references: Emily Cutler (Dan’s little), Hannah Jensen (Dan’s grandlittle and wedding officiant), and Blakely Frechette (Dan’s great grandlittle). These three top-notch Tri Deltas and best friends of Liz attested to his character. From there, it was Vandal tailgates, Kamiak Butte hikes, Schweitzer ski dates, and the rest was history.”
And here is their favorite part about being together: “Dan and Liz love that they can go on huge outdoor adventures together and also spend nights at home binge-watching Parks & Rec with a carton of ice cream. They keep a good balance of activities and also a good balance of personalities. Dan has a level-headed, analytical engineering approach to life. Liz is more of a dreamer and keeps life feeling spontaneous. They help each other grow and learn new skills and approaches to life.”
They are SO adorable and it was such an honor photographing their wedding day! Their bright colors were perfect for the forest backdrop and I’m so in love with their gallery! Congrats to Liz and Dan! Cheers!
