I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Tori and Brian had an incredible Artist Point Elopement surrounded by their immediate family from Utah. Okay you guys, get ready for such an amazing elopement up in the mountains! So we started the day off with Brian and Tori parking right in front of Mt. Shuckston up on Artist Point and getting ready in their super epic cool vintage van they drove all the way from Utah! They brought along their puppy and it was so much fun! They had a cute first look right outside the van and then they exchanged private vows overlooking Mt. Baker together. Next, we drove down to Heather Meadows for their intimate and sunny ceremony along with some portraits in some of my favorite spots in Heather Meadows and the Lake Anne Trailhead. Tori wanted some forest like area, and so of course we went to the most gorgeous evergreens up on the mountain at the Lake Anne Trailhead. While we were doing some portraits in the woods, the rest of the family were preparing for a little BBQ dinner! I just love all their details and especially how they both wore custom Chacos with their date on it! SO COOL!
Grilled corn and sausage hot dogs in the parking lot. It was just so THEM that it was perfect. They had a lovely reception in the shade of the vintage van and and the golden light was shinning down on everything. We cheered everyone and then we ran up to the perfectly gorgeous Huntoon Point for the clearest and stunning golden hour bridal portraits as we together watched the sun go down. After that epic-ness, we ran down the mountain to play with the headlights of the van and that was their day. It was absolutely perfect and everything looked incredible. Tori and Brian are the cutest together and it was such a blast wandering around the mountain with these two cuties. Tori originally saw my previous elopement photos at Artist Point and she was like “That’s what I want” so we got exactly what her dreams were made of and I’m just so honored that these two picked me to capture it all for them 🙂 Their whole family that was there, their puppies, Tori and Brian of course, everything was awesome and I wish we could do it all over again!
Alright, so this is how these two met: “We met at Tori’s house when Brian came over to hang out with Tori’s roommate. From Tori’s perspective: I was out on the hammock on the porch drinking a couple glasses of red wine after work, was feeling pretty good when a very good looking guy came over and was hanging out on the porch with her roommate. I hung out for a bit longer than I probably should have because social cues are hard, but then after an hour or so I realized what was happening, so I went inside and left Brian and my roommate alone. From Brian’s perspective: I was going over to a girl’s house and when I got there, there was a cute girl that was drunk in a hammock on the second floor deck, I was hoping she wasn’t going to fall out. She spent some time outside with us, but then she left and I didn’t see her again for months.”
And here is their epic proposal story: “We were on an Alaskan Cruise with Tori’s whole family for 10 days, each night we were up near Alaska Brian would go out to the top deck late at night while it was still bright out for sunset. He kept trying to get Tori to go up at night with him, but she kept declining, so on the second to last night on the cruise, she finally agreed, but by this point in time the ship was already about level with Portland and it was dark, cloudy, and misty, and nothing like the nights Brian had been up to see before. But he still got down on one knee and proposed to Tori with her grandmother’s ring. This was so shocking for Tori that she was laughing the whole time Brian was talking, said yes, then said “wait do it again so I can appreciate it better” then proceeded to laugh even harder the second time.”
Just way too amazing and these two are just the coolest! Congrats to Tori and Brian! Love you guys and please come back to explore more PNW with me soon!
