I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Addie and Jon had the most stunning colorful Within Sodo wedding in downtown Seattle and it’s seriously one of my favorite weddings so far! Addie and Jon are the most adorable and photographing their wedding day at Within Sodo was a total dream. The colors alone in their reception space was seriously gorgeous and I just love how Addie wanted all the colors, Camile at New Leaf Floral understood the assignment and made it all so so so stunning. Addie and Jon are so cute and goofy together and it was such a blast photographing them. We also did their engagement shoot around Ballard last fall and I just knew from then on that it was going to be a gorgeous wedding day as well. We started their wedding day off at a local hotel where Addie was getting ready and it was such a fun space! There were monkeys on the walls so of course I had to document the hell out of that! haha Everyone was so sweet and it was a blast at the hotel talking about all the Taylor Swift rumors.
We then made it back to the stunning Within Sodo venue for first looks, portraits, and everything else! Within Sodo is such a fun space and it’s truly just an open reception area so you bring in all your rentals which gives you a real chance at being creative and get whatever your dreams want for the space. It’s also a super moody PNW vibe in there, so I always love playing with the lighting and getting that sun shinning in on the dance floor, so that made for some real fun shots of Addie and Jon having their first dance!
Their wedding day was SO much fun, these two are the best, and it was all so gorgeous to capture. I’ll forever be in love with their photos and I can’t wait for more colorful weddings like this one! Oh I also had Indian food for the first time, at a wedding and in life, and it was AMAZING!! I want to go to this restaurant in Seattle and never leave! Addie and Jon, thank you for such a bold wedding dinner choice- I’m forever grateful and changed 😉
Alright this is how their proposal went down: “Apparently Addie knew I was going to propose because I had actually made a reservation to Portage Bay and insisted I needed to actually wear nice clothes (we had also gone to the Farmer’s Market and I asked her too many times if she wanted flowers). After brunch, we walked over to the Ballard Lochs but a couple of her friends couldn’t find the location to take a video of it and we ended up going to the salmon hatchery to stall for time. We ended up walking for a bit but it had taken us so long Addie started walking ahead and I had to slow her down so I had a chance to propose with the photographer and her friends with the video. She luckily said yes!”
Favorite Part about being together: “Knowing that we can talk about anything with each other and we’ll always get honest and open communication from the other person. We make each other laugh and love to joke around and I think we both make each other better (or at least a little funnier).”
Super adorable!! Congrats you two gorgeous lovebirds!! Love you guys!
