Casey + Jackie’s Intimate Yakima Canyon Elopement

Yakima/ Ellensburg Canyon + Cle Elum, WA

Casey and Jackie reached out to me 3 days before their elopement asking if I was available to photograph their intimate Yakima Canyon Elopement. They started planning their COVID-19 backup plan on Wednesday and how they wanted their elopement day to go. With fresh flowers from Safeway, and an awesome $5 cake from Safeway as well, these two gathered their officiant, their puppy Chewy, and their 2 closest friends as witnesses to have their elopement. Casey and Jackie had their engagement session with my in early 2019 and now we all got to witness their vow exchange. It was so wonderful! Surrounded by the canyon hills and then driving to Speelyi Beach in Cle Elum, WA for cake and champagne, their little afternoon was magical and their own.

The two also Facebook Live-ed the whole thing so their friends and family from Michigan could see the pair get married for real. They had to change their plans dramatically from a large wedding across the country, to this intimate and beautiful day. We popped champagne in the woods and just when the wind picked up, the champagne went everywhere and blew right into the camera. It was amazing!! They really wanted to smash some cake into their faces so Jackie took out the $5 Safeway little white cake, and they had cake smashed in each other faces before sharing it with their 2 witness friends.

We’ve never seen the water so high before in Cle Elum, so we had to improvise just a little bit. But everything turned out amazing and special. This just proves even more that you don’t have to have a large, grand, wedding. All you need is a few close friends, someone to marry you, and each other. Oh and your puppy, of course!
