I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Marisa and Chris are married!! YAY! These two adorable people had their wedding at the Cornet Bay, Deception Pass State Park in Oak Harbor and it was so much fun! Surrounded by their best friends and family, everyone felt like long friends and one giant loving family. With personal vows that made you belly laugh, camp vibes with picnic tables and their decorated dining hall, and ending with a Nixson wedding tradition of serenading everyone with John Denver’s “Today”, everything about Marisa and Chris’ wedding was their own and beautiful.
We started the day with a fun first look, then adventured to 3 different places around Deception Pass capturing their gorgeous bridals, including the Deception Pass Bridge, Rosario Beach and Bowman Bay on the docks. We then headed back in the crazy busy traffic for family photos, their hilarious and fun ceremony, and their rad reception. Their wedding day was simple and gorgeous! Their camp vibes alone were so fun with the multi colored dinner plates, picnic tables, flags hanging in the dinning hall, and the campfire place they exchanged their vows infant of-everything was so much fun and unique.
These newlyweds met while sailing (if you haven’t seen their awesome engagement session on their boat, check it out here), and they were working on a 135ft. wooden schooner boat. They have been together for 2.5 years before Marisa proposed by knitting a bear cozy that said “Will you marry me?” on it and gave it to Chris. Chris then replied with ‘yes’ of course, and then actually knitted his own beer cozy that said ‘yes’ on it, too! So adorable! They love to go hiking, sailing, backpacking, rafting, and canoeing together- basically anything on the water. And these two are so amazing with sailing and they seriously know their stuff.
Their favorite part about being together is how they always laugh together. They are so excited to adventure more together as a newly married couple.
