I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Mia and Riley’s Artist Point engagement session started with a whole lot of rain and a little bit of faith that Washington weather might give us a break. It had been downpouring right before we began, so we grabbed a couple of umbrellas and decided to see what happened.
Thankfully, the rain stopped and stayed away for the rest of the evening.
We spent the session around Heather Meadows and Picture Lake, where fall colors were taking over the landscape and the mountains were completely hidden behind the clouds. Instead of sweeping mountain views, we got layers of fog moving through the landscape, and it ended up giving us something incredibly beautiful.
While we were photographing around Heather Meadows, a huge bank of fog started rolling toward us. You can literally see it moving through some of the photos as it slowly swallowed up more of the scenery behind Mia and Riley. Between the autumn colors, misty lake, and fog drifting through the trees, Artist Point felt especially magical that evening.
Mia and Riley were so freaking cute together, and Mia has the kind of smile that makes it impossible not to smile back at her. The cooler weather gave us plenty of reasons to keep them close together, and the whole session ended up feeling warm and cozy even with all that fog around us.
Their puppy Bob came along too, although around here he is better known as Bobby Potato. He spent the evening happily frolicking through the meadows, exploring everything around him, and joining Mia and Riley for a few family photos. We even tried balancing Mia’s engagement ring on his head at one point. As you do.
Because the higher elevations were completely fogged in, we didn’t make our way farther toward Huntoon Point. Instead, we stayed around Heather Meadows and Picture Lake and worked with everything the weather gave us.
Peek-a-boo mountain views and fall color, rolling fog, a ridiculously cute couple, and one very happy puppy having the time of his life.
Honestly, I’ll take it.
