I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Mandy and Steve had such an electric Imperia Wedding Day and I’m so excited to share more about it here! They decided to have a two-day wedding weekend event with their first day starting out at the Renton Landing near their apartment. They only had their wedding party and family there to support them, and they had a small intimate ceremony, photos along the water, and then Chipotle for lunch. They played pool together in the lounge area and hung out all night before the wedding reception party the next day. On their day 1 of their wedding weekend, they exchanged private vows to each other in the hotel suite, and had the color of their favorite pokemon on each other’s vows. They love Pokemon so their day was filled with callbacks to all the things they love together.
On Day 2, Mandy and Steve got ready in the basement of the Imperia in downtown Seattle and helped each other get all fancy! They greeted all their wonderful guests and danced the night away! Mandy is apart of a few dance companies and Mandy herself along with her friends performed some awesome dances for everyone and it was so cool! Her sister and friends did a “fan dance” sort of style dance with these cool ribbon fans and the way the light caught them was so gorgeous!! Everyone from her dance companies showed up and they sure brought their dance moves, too!
Mandy and Steve are so perfect together and it was so sweet to see them so happy! They also had a live poet writing poems on the spot for anyone who wanted one and it was SO COOL! Be sure to check out their custom wedding day poem in the gallery below. Overall, their wedding weekend was amazing and I wish it never ended! Congrats to these two lovely and gorgeous people!!
This is how these two met: “We met as roommates in 2017! Mandy didn’t realize Steve was her roommate because he was living in a closet sized room in a communal house with lots of other people on Beacon Hill in Seattle. We spent nights playing rocking band, hanging out with our roommates, and getting to know each other, slowly but surely. We even went on a trip to Austen together before we officially decided to start dating, to help an ex roommate on their move.”
This is the how the proposal went down: “We had actually had a thorough very transparent discussion on marriage beforehand. Steve had, without Mandy’s knowledge, been eyeing an Alexandrite stone because it sounded cool since it changes color. But Steve is colorblind!!!! So he needed Mandy to see what it looked like. We went to Green Lake Jewelry Works and requested to see the stone and ended up LOVING IT. And surprise surprise our jeweler was also a designer! He quickly drew up a beautiful ring design based on Mandy’s feedback and Steve and Mandy fell In love with the engagement ring – unplanned. We ended up buying the ring that day and waiting for the ring to be designed. While waiting on the ring to be made, Steve had ordered a flexible gym ring to propose with earlier. So after Sakura con, shopping for anime things and having a great day, then wrapping it at home over chipotle, Steve walked Mandy down to the waterfront (something we do often), and in the darkness, quietly whispering (because Mandy gets stressed out), he whispered “Will you marry me.” Of course Mandy said year and then we celebrated over ice cream.”
