Lincoln Park Seattle Engagement Session

Rachel and Giancarlo’s Lincoln Park Seattle engagement session was one of those evenings that reminded me why I love photographing couples in the Pacific Northwest. Between the soft sunset, towering trees, and a few unexpected surprises along the way, their session felt relaxed, romantic, and completely true to who they are.

We met at Lincoln Park in West Seattle for a mini engagement session, and from the moment we started walking, these two made my job incredibly easy. They were constantly making each other laugh, stealing little glances, and simply enjoying being together. There wasn’t a single moment that felt forced. They were completely present with one another, and that always translates into photographs that feel genuine.

One of the best surprises of the evening was discovering that Shakespeare in the Park was happening nearby. As we wandered through the trails, an orchestra began playing music from Pirates of the Caribbean, and suddenly it felt like we had stepped into a movie. It’s one a moment you could never plan, but it added so much atmosphere to an already beautiful evening.

Rachel and Giancarlo brought their own hammock along for the session, and I absolutely loved that personal touch. We found the perfect spot to hang it between two trees, and once they climbed in together, they couldn’t stop laughing. They looked completely at home wrapped up together, so I gave them a little push, and it turned into the sweetest little GIF. It was such a fun idea.

Lincoln Park has so many different backdrops within just a short walk. From forested trails to open grassy areas and glimpses of the water, every turn offers something different. It’s one of my favorite locations for couples who want engagement photos that feel natural while still showcasing some of Seattle’s beautiful scenery.

More than anything, though, this session was about Rachel and Giancarlo. The way they look at each other is so effortless and genuine. They have the kind of connection that doesn’t need much direction because it naturally shines through in every laugh, every smile, and every quiet moment together.

After spending the evening with these two, I’m even more excited for their wedding next year. If their engagement session is any indication, it’s going to be a day full of joy, laughter, and so many beautiful moments to document. I already can’t wait to celebrate alongside them again.
