Mount Rainier Paradise Elopement

Lindsay and Steven’s Mount Rainier elopement came together after a wildfire closure changed their original plans for Sunrise. Instead, we pivoted to Paradise, where the mountain was clear, the evening light was gorgeous, and these two got exactly the intimate adventure they had traveled from Florida for.
Their day started at a cozy A-frame Airbnb in Packwood, where Lindsay and Steven got ready separately before meeting outside for their first look on the deck. The cabin had incredible light coming through the windows and trees, plus a suspended net hammock upstairs that Steven was not entirely convinced about. He faced his fears, climbed in with Lindsay, and I climbed on top of a bunk bed to get the shot from above.
From Packwood, we headed into Mount Rainier National Park and made our way toward Paradise for their ceremony.
As Lindsay and Steven walked toward the ceremony location, three strangers cheered for them along the trail. Since they needed witnesses and I was also officiating their wedding, I asked if the group wanted to come watch them get married.
They said yes.
Just like that, Lindsay and Steven had three impromptu witnesses for their intimate Mount Rainier ceremony. They exchanged heartfelt vows, signed the paperwork, and officially became husband and wife with the beautiful mountain behind them.
Afterward, we explored Paradise for portraits around Myrtle Falls, Skyline Vista, the meadows, and a few favorite spots throughout the park. Lindsay’s veil gave us plenty to work with in the wind, and the evening brought out seemingly every animal on Mount Rainier. We spotted a black bear, deer, marmots, and squirrels while making our way around the mountain.
Lindsay and Steven met through mutual friends and reconnected at a Thanksgiving dinner in 2022. A trip to the gym led to their first dinner date, and a few years later, Steven surprised Lindsay with a proposal during a photoshoot in Florence, Italy. Travel and adventure have always been a big part of their relationship, so getting married at Mount Rainier fit them perfectly.
We finished their elopement with their rented Jeep, champagne in vintage glasses, a little charcuterie, and portraits as the light shifted from alpenglow into blue hour.
After a day of pivots, unexpected witnesses, wildlife encounters, plenty of kissing, and a whole lot of beautiful mountain light, Lindsay and Steven were officially married.
