Holly + Sam | Odd Fellows Hall | Orcas Island Wedding
On the musical land of Orcas Island, Holly and Sam got married and exchanged their intimate vows overlooking the water at the Odd Fellows Hall. This Odd Fellows Hall | Orcas Island Wedding was one of the best ever and Holly and Sam are so perfect together. These two planned such a fun wedding day with cute and unique ocean/ nodal themes at the reception, and bright and colorful orange floral bouquets. Holly and Sam love playing board games, so naturally, they had fun board games and even had a custom personalized puzzle with their cute selves on it along with their kitties. So adorable!
Holly and Sam got ready at the stunning Bayside Cottages that over looked the water and we were surrounded by really bold deer. While taking the wedding party photos and their first look moment, there was an adorable family of deer roaming around the backyard and they got so close to us! So be on the look out for some photo bombers in their gallery below.
With all their friends and family members making the big trip either from Philadelphia or someone in Washington, everyone made the awesome and beautiful ferry trip over to celebrate these two wonderful people together. I even snapped a wide shot of Orcas Island while on the ferry so it can be apart of their wedding album. Holly and Sam had an intimate ceremony on the back deck of the Hall, and their vows were so beautifully done while you could hear the waves crashing in the background. This town was so cute and family-oriented that it made a perfect place for these two to get married because they, too, are intimate, loving, and selfless.
How these two amazing people met: “We met through Tinder and had our first date at the Peddler Brewing Company in Ballard, Seattle. We met for coffee once after that, and later saw our first movie together for our third date, Kubo and the Two Strings. The first time Holly asked Sam out he witnessed how much Holly truly struggles with eating tacos. This has been a running theme in our relationship.”
In their own adorable words, here is how their proposal went down:
Sam: “We were walking on the rim of the Grand Canyon and I was nervously looking for a nice overlook at which to propose. I pretty much spent the whole morning being a cage of nerves. When we finally arrived at a spot that looked just right I got down on one knee and asked. We were both crying, Holly told me to stand up before she said yes, so there was definitely a moment of panic for me there. But yeah….I think it went fine?”
Holly: “I knew Sam was going to propose for a long time by the time we went on our Grand Canyon vacation, and I thought that that would be when it would happen (it was our first big vacation together, and the first time I’d taken a week off of work for anything). When he was trying to find someone to photograph us near the canyon I thought it was cool, because we don’t have a lot of pictures together that aren’t selfies, but then when he turned to me and nervously started proposing I was in a bit of shock. When he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him and showed me the ring, I asked him to stand up (so I could hug him), although I probably should have verbalized “yes” before that. Whoops.”
I’m so excited to share with you all their awesome Orcas Island Destination Wedding Day below.
