I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Alright you guys! Maddie and Gage had literally the perfect Spring Seattle Elopement during the week in June and it is truly a Seattle Wedding Day. Like truly. These two extremely good looking people came to Seattle from Colorado for their wedding and they seriously went all out. Straight up, this is one of my all time favorite weddings to date. Let’s gooooo!
We started their perfect Spring Seattle Elopement at their adorable and very PNW-inspired AirBnB in Queen Anne with the perfect view of the Space Needle. They got ready, had their first look up on the rooftop, and then we headed into downtown. We adventured all around Pike Place Market, taking photos under all the signature neon signs, caught a ferry driving by, and picked up Maddie’s wedding bouquet from a local floral vendor, Bao. With the sun shinning, we took my dream shot of them walking across a crosswalk overlooking the Public Market sign, while I was on the other side of the road (thanks guys for indulging me on this dream shot!) and it turned out way better than I could have dreamed of. After our Pikes Place fix we went out to Kerry Park for family photos before settling in for our ceremony + reception dinner at The Canlis Restaurant.
Maddie and Gage called me a few days before their day with an idea. They wanted to make their Seattle Wedding Day even more “Seattle vibes” with gifting everyone a trip to the Space Needle, so they hid tickets under everyone’s seats for them to be surprised after dinner. It was absolutely incredible to see everyone’s faces seeing their tickets and how excited Maddie and Gage were for this! Seriously- the best experience. We all Ubered over to the needle and took our time seeing the sites from the top, taking tons of perfect portraits along the way, and honestly, who could have done this day better. We got everything packed into their day and it was Seattle through and through.
Besides literally everything about their day that I loved, it was really cool to see this orange theme throughout everything. They said to me this: “The wedding theme is “mi media naranja” (my half orange). Maddie’s family is from Mexico and there is a saying compares a soulmate to two pieces of an orange. I’ll include the link to our wedding website that adds a little more context to the theme 🙂 Considering that we met at OrangeTheory, the orange motif felt right. Everything about our wedding is meaningful. Maddie’s dad will be officiating the wedding, her wedding dress was a gift from a friend in Nashville, and Seattle is our special place.”
Here is also what these two gorgeous people love doing together: “We love being active. Long walks, early mornings with our dog Mac, and asian food are our favorite things. Gage is a hamburger connoisseur and has a hard no pho/ ramen before 12pm rule. We also love the great british bake off which was the first show we watched together- partially because it excellent tv and partially because episodes are 50 min long which meant maximum time together when we first started hanging out. Since moving to Denver we have been hosting a TON. Gage is a grill master and Maddie makes a mean strawberry cake. We love having people over and enjoying time with our friends. also, we LOVE COSTCO!”
So freaken’ cool! Honestly, this day was amazing. Maddie and Gage are so wonderful that I am planning a trip to Colorado to see them again because I can’t get enough! Love you guys, and a major congratulations!!
