I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Natalie and Jace had a lovely rainy Suncadia Resort wedding out in Cle Elum, WA this past summer and it was a perfect rainy PNW wedding day! While it was supposed to be a perfect sunny day in August, it ended up being a cozy, rainy, classic pacific northwest wedding day up in the mountains at the resort. It rained off an on for us at the start of the day but once the ceremony hit, it was pouring on us! But Natalie and Jace had nothing but smiles on the entire day together. It didn’t matter that it was pouring rain coming down on their day, all that mattered was that they were getting married with all their family and friends to cheer them on! It was such a lovely day and these two are just so adorable together!
The couple ended up renting this awesome cabin just across the street from the resort and it was so cute and cozy! Then while the rain was keeping away for a bit, we wandered all around the resort for their bridal portraits after their first look. We even asked the activity employee at the resort if we could borrow a moped for a few shots and it was so much fun! To the employee at Suncadia that day that helps flipped Natalie’s dress up for ‘the shot’, you know who you are, and you’re mega amazing! Thank you again!
After portraits getting every view the resort has to offer, even a patch of tall yellow grass on the side of the road (hehe), these two cuties got married in the rain, and danced the night away in one of the resort’s ballrooms. It was such a gorgeous day and I wish it lasted forever! Natalie and Jace are so cute together and the world is such a better place with these two together!
Okay Y’all, this is how their proposal went down: “He told me we were going to get lunch with his grandma at a country club. We strolled through the Washington Park Arboretum to “pass the time” because she was “running late”. We stepped out onto a small dock overlooking Union Bay, where he got down on one knee. Boats honked to congratulate us as they passed by. One boat pulled right up to the dock. It was filled with both our families, including our sisters who flew in from out of state, all together for the very first time, to celebrate with us.”
And this is what they love to do together: “We like to spend time with our loved ones including friends, family, and our little dog, Nami. We take her to the park and on doggie adventures. We also love spending quality time together, just the two of us. We like music and concerts, trying new restaurants, and reading before bed.”
I always love shooting weddings at Suncadia and just love finding new spots and views around the resort! If you love Suncadia, check out another recent session I did there here!
A quick love note from the couple:
“Sarah Jane was AMAZING from the very beginning! She offered a planning guide and vendor recommendations, and felt more like a photographer/coordinator. On the actual day, she wasn’t phased by the rain and helped me come to terms with it haha. She had such fun ideas while we were doing bridal portraits, like getting in a canoe or on a Vespa! She was efficient and we had plenty of time before the ceremony to relax with our loved ones. She made sure we got photos with my 6 month old niece who was only awake for a very small window! She was patient while we herded our big extended families together for Christmas card photos lol. And she helped fix my bustle when my darling husband ripped one out after like 2 minutes of dancing. We adore how she captured not just us, but the natural beauty of the day as well! The handful of prints she sent with the full gallery are now hanging proudly in my classroom for all my students to enjoy. She also sent a key chain with our wedding date in roman numerals, to match the decor I purchased for the wedding, which is just so so thoughtful! I’m not sure if she’s even aware, but I have a key chain from my husband and I’s very first date, and now I have one to commemorate our wedding day as well! My heart is full! <3 Thank you Sarah Jane!!!!”
