I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Rowan and Jay had a stunning Backyard Snohomish Boho Wedding with all their closest friends and family and it was incredible! The amount of energy at this wedding was indescribable and everyone there was so happy, eager to help with anything, and all had the best dance moves I’ve ever seen. Everyone put their heart and souls into this wedding and it definitely showed. Rowan and Jay are so freaken’ cute together that their day was reflected how much they love each other, their friends, and EDM music 😉 After getting ready, these two had private vows in the ferns together and then got the party started. They had all kinds of adorable decorations around Rowan’s childhood home backyard including a yurt they bought (and might rent a ton of this furniture that’s so cool!) so of course we had to play with that.
One of my favorite moments of the day, funny enough, was when the officiant didn’t have the couple exchange rings during the ceremony (total accident) so I thought of this trendy thing the couple could do before signing the marriage license was put each other’s ring on each other at the same time. See the GIF below 🙂 It felt so natural and perfect for the scene/ outcome of the ceremony. So cool!
So this is how these two met each other and fell in love: “We met at the Gorge Amphitheater during a weekend long music festival. We spent the rest of the weekend dancing, laughing and getting to know one another. Jay lived on the east side of the state while Rowan lived on the west side and because of the distance we both assumed this would end after one amazing, fun filled weekend. For the next six months, we both made trips to see each other, most of the time meeting halfway to explore Leavenworth. Our bond grew over their love of good conversation, dark beer, and getting outdoors. Not long after, Jay moved to the west side and the rest is history.”
This is how the proposal went down: “We started the day with mimosas and hunting for river rocks with our dog. We then hiked into the woods and along our hike stopped to take some photos with our tripod. Jay was sneaky and managed to start a video on the camera and hooked a carabiner with a dog tag that said “Rowan please tell jay yes” on to our dogs collar. He asked me to “fix leo’s collar” for the photo and while I was inspecting the new dog tag, he was getting on one knee behind me. I’m a very hard person to surprise but I was completely shocked when I turned around.”
Rowan and Jay are so perfect together and so in love that I couldn’t stop taking their photo! They are so cool, so adorable, and I’m so excited to see their future unfold. Congrats, you cuties!
