I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Erin + Nick’s intimate rooftop Seattle elopement didn’t arrive by way of a grand, cinematic story moment. It began with two people finding exactly who they’ve been waiting for.
Erin and Nick met online later in life, and as Erin shared, it felt like they were “waiting specifically for each other.” From the very beginning, their relationship was built on thoughtfulness. On their first date, Nick intentionally chose a restaurant halfway between their homes because he didn’t want Erin to make the entire drive to Seattle. That simple gesture stuck with Erin, and she says he’s been just as considerate every day since.
Their engagement was just as practical and perfectly suited to them. Instead of planning a surprise proposal, they talked through what they wanted their wedding to look like, picked out a ring together, and then decided they were officially engaged. Erin described it as “exactly the way I wanted it to go down,” and it couldn’t have fit them better.
For their wedding, they kept the focus exactly where they wanted it. Their intimate ceremony took place on the rooftop of Erin’s dad’s apartment building with beautiful views of the Sound. It was simple, relaxed, and full of the people who mattered most.
Although the weather was definitely warm, everyone embraced it. After the ceremony, the entire group climbed aboard a party bus and headed to Alki Beach for family photos, bridal portraits, and a gorgeous Seattle sunset.
One of my favorite moments happened completely by surprise. While we were taking portraits, a nearby group started playing romantic pop songs. At one point they even played Taylor Swift’s “Love Story,” and it felt like the perfect soundtrack for the evening. It was one of those unexpected moments that you could never plan but made the day even more memorable.
The celebration continued afterward at Nick’s sister’s home in Fremont, where friends and family stopped by throughout the afternoon to celebrate with the newlyweds. It made the entire day feel less like a formal event and more like spending time with the people who love you most.
Erin and Nick love exploring Seattle together, but they’re equally happy staying home and sharing a homemade meal. Looking at the way they care for each other, it’s easy to see why Erin says she’s most looking forward to “a lifetime of love, friendship, and companionship.” Their wedding day reflected exactly that from beginning to end.
