I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
After getting rained out at Mt. Rainier, Siya and Austen decided to head north for a Larrabee State Park engagement session instead, and honestly, it couldn’t have worked out better.
Larrabee State Park has everything that makes the Pacific Northwest so special. Towering evergreens, rocky cliffs, winding trails, and waterfront views all come together in one place, making it the perfect location for couples who want a little bit of everything during their engagement session.
We spent the evening wandering through the forest before making our way toward the coastline as the sun started to set. Every turn seemed to lead to another incredible backdrop, and the combination of lush greenery and ocean views gave their gallery so much variety. It was one of those evenings where slowing down, exploring, and letting the location guide us made for some of my favorite images.
Watching these two together was just as fun as the scenery. Austen has a way of making Siya laugh that brings out the biggest smile, and those genuine moments always end up being my favorite ones to photograph. They were so relaxed together, which made the entire session feel easy and natural.
This season of life is an especially exciting one for them. Siya and Austen are about to quit their jobs and move to Singapore for two years simply to chase a new adventure together. Hearing them talk about everything they’re looking forward to made me more than a little jealous. Photographing this chapter before such a big life change made their engagement session feel even more meaningful.
As the sun dipped lower over the water, I had the chance to experiment with a few double-exposure images to wrap up the evening. It was such a fun creative addition and the perfect way to finish a session that already felt a little different from the start.
Rain may have changed the original plan, but this Larrabee State Park engagement session ended up being exactly what it was supposed to be. I can’t wait to see where life takes Siya and Austen next, and I’m so glad we were able to document this season before they head off on their next adventure together.
