I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Seattle Wedding Photographer: WHAT A YEAR!! You guys!! We did it! We made it to the end of 2020 together! Man, this year has thrown us all for a huge loop and I feel like anxiety and stress has surly raised high this year. My wedding season this year has been so incredible and it’s been so wonderful being able to still capture amazing elopements, weddings, micro-weddings, and engagement sessions. The year started strong with sessions and a downtown Seattle elopement on Valentines day, but then COVID-19 hit us so hard, and quarantine set in. During quarantine, I realized that getting booked for a wedding, doesn’t mean the wedding will totally happen (shocking, I know, but it’s true!). Months were spent re-booking, and working with my sweet couples to make sure our dates line up for rescheduling their big day. Then once the states opened up a little more, wedding season hit full on! Woohoo!
Weddings looked a bit different this year, with plenty of sanitizer, face masks, and getting tested for covid. Such a strange year, but couples still got married, and love was not cancelled. Since most of the spring weddings were rescheduled, the summer and fall season was hella rough. I traveled all over the state for wonderful weddings, stayed in tons of hotels, and got really burnt out. I was SO thrilled to have a job and be able to travel to such amazing weddings, but at the same time, since so much happened so quickly and back to back, it was worn out even sooner. Now at the end of my season, I can rest, relax with my puppy, Ellie, and recharge.
I’m also super stoked to add a member to the Works by Sarah Jane Photography family: Phoebe The Photo Booth! Woohoo! She’s my new Add-On I’m now offering for all my couples who book me as their wedding photographer- you can now add Phoebe to your wedding day and I’ll set her all up so your guests can take fun photo booth photos, boomerangs, GIFs, and videos, during your reception. It’s such a fun way to level up your reception and it’s super easy to use. I’m super stoked on expanding my business!
For 2021, I have tons of new and exciting things happening for my business and I can’t wait to share with you all! 2020 was nuts, but I am thrilled to have been able to shoot everyone’s stunning wedding days, captured all their moments, and made heirlooms for these wonderful couples. Even though I was worn out, and a bit stressed out, it was all worth it for my amazing couples. OK brb crying. I loved capturing the surprise fireworks at the end of the night, the champagne popping for engagement sessions, how adorable puppies are during a shoot, your mom crying when you’re walking down the aisle, everything I took a picture of is deeply valued and I’ll remember forever. It’s such an honor being a wedding photographer and I wouldn’t want to be anything else.
So here is my 2020 post in review! Sharing all the fun moments I had the pleasure of capturing this year and I’m SO excited for 2021! Cheers, friends! Thanks for following along and walking with me on this journey!
