Artist Point Engagement Session

Sophie and Ethan’s Artist Point engagement session gave us the most perfect weather, blooming lupines, and a gorgeous alpenglow sunset across the mountains.
These two drove nearly four hours for their session because they really wanted to adventure with me at Artist Point. They love my work and knew this was exactly where they wanted their engagement photos taken, which made the evening feel even more special. They even brought me cute little gummy bears as a thank-you for making the drive up there with them.
We could not have asked for a better evening on the mountain. The skies stayed clear, the wildflowers were blooming, and the entire landscape looked incredible in the summer light. The lupines added so much color throughout the session and gave us a beautiful backdrop as Sophie and Ethan explored the trails together.
As the sun began to set, the mountains were covered in the prettiest alpenglow. That soft pink and orange light was everything we had hoped for, and it gave Sophie and Ethan the perfect setting for a few quiet moments together. There were plenty of cute little kisses, lots of laughter, and so many beautiful mountain views everywhere we turned.
Sophie and Ethan also loved playing with the lanterns, so we used them throughout the evening as the light started to fade. The lanterns added such a cozy touch to their photos and looked especially beautiful against the mountains at sunset. They were completely up for trying different spots and following the light wherever it took us.
Artist Point was especially busy that Friday night, with several other photographers, portrait sessions, and a few elopements happening around the mountain. It was fun getting to see familiar faces, say hello, and catch up with other photographers while we were all creating in one of the most beautiful places in Washington.
Sophie and Ethan are getting married next year, although I will not be photographing their wedding. They specifically wanted their engagement session at Artist Point, and I am so glad they chose me to document this part of their story. Between the perfect weather, blooming lupines, lantern photos, and that incredible alpenglow sunset, their evening on the mountain could not have been more beautiful.
