I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
As a Seattle wedding photographer, I get to witness all kinds of celebrations, but there is something especially meaningful about a wedding day that focuses entirely on family, connection, and the people who matter most. Emily and Jordan’s Canlis Seattle elopement was exactly that.
With just nine guests in attendance, these two chose to celebrate their marriage surrounded only by their immediate families at one of Seattle’s most iconic restaurants. Perched above Lake Union, Canlis provided the perfect setting for a day that felt elegant, intimate, and completely centered on what was important to them.
Before the ceremony, we spent some time exploring the grounds around Canlis for portraits. The forecast had threatened rain, but Seattle decided to cooperate, giving us the opportunity to take advantage of the beautiful scenery surrounding the property. Between the lush greenery, modern architecture, and incredible views, every corner of the venue offered something special.
One of my favorite things about Emily and Jordan was how genuinely happy they were to simply be together. They were relaxed, playful, and completely present throughout the evening. Nothing felt rushed. Nothing felt overcomplicated. It was a celebration that reflected who they are as a couple.
Inside the Executive Room, family members gathered around the stunning bay windows overlooking the city as Emily and Jordan exchanged vows. Their ceremony thoughtfully blended Chinese and Jewish traditions, honoring both of their families and backgrounds. One of the most meaningful parts of the evening was watching both of their fathers officiate together, creating a ceremony that felt deeply personal and unique to them.
After sharing their vows, Emily and Jordan participated in the traditional breaking of the glass before celebrating with champagne and heartfelt toasts from family members. With such a small guest list, every person in attendance played an important role in the day, making the celebration feel even more special.
Following the ceremony, we headed up to the rooftop for portraits overlooking Lake Union and Gas Works Park. The views from Canlis are incredible, and it was the perfect place for Emily and Jordan to soak in a few quiet moments together as newlyweds. As the clouds rolled across the Seattle skyline, they laughed, celebrated, and enjoyed the first moments of married life before heading downstairs to share dinner with their families.
From the beautiful blend of traditions to the breathtaking views and meaningful family moments, Emily and Jordan’s Canlis Seattle elopement was a wonderful reminder that the most memorable wedding days aren’t defined by the size of the guest list. They’re defined by the people who gather together to celebrate a new chapter.
Congratulations, Emily and Jordan. It was such an honor to document the beginning of your next adventure together.
