I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Michelle and Olivia had a loud and proud Colorful Black Diamond Gardens Wedding to kick off Pride month and the rest of their lives together! Working with these two lovely brides was incredible to say the least. Right from the beginning of their day, vibrant energies were flowing throughout every single image captured! The entire day was electric and engulfed in the most enriching colors. To be even more unique, each bridesmaid handmade their own floral bouquet! There was not an ounce of this union that didn’t scream how proud they were of their love for one another and the love they had for everyone around them.
Amidst this Colorful Black Diamond Gardens Wedding, family was very involved from start to finish. Olivia’s father married these two love birds, making the union blessed in more ways than one. Afterwards, during our attempt to capture some “golden hour” memories, the sky let out, and the rain showers swopped in! However, that did not stop these two rainbow souls from adventuring down to the lake and snuggling up tight underneath the umbrellas for some intimate images! The raindrops on the clear umbrellas only highlighted their laughter and smiles. Thereafter our rainy adventure, Michelle and Olivia were caught sneaking some sweet kisses in the reception tent. Their spirits are that of a kindred sweetness and purity. Not one moment of their day lacked in uniqueness and personal expression.
Following their Colorful Black Diamond Gardens Wedding ceremony, they had their friends sing their first dance song. It was such an beautiful moment to bare witness. Furthermore, the couple was joined by Michelle’s rockstar bandmates from the “Thunder Pussy” and they danced the night away together! With all of the electrify energy, puppies to pet and of course the resident donkey Adelle; this had to be one of my favorite weddings to date!
The Proposal: “Michelle planned a getaway for our 5 year anniversary. She rented an airbnb on Samish Island (Bow Edison) near where we shared many heartfelt moments on Chuckanut drive in Bellingham in our early dating days. She actually drove out there the weekend before to ensure the location was set for the proposal. When we arrived, we set our bags down and Michelle suggested we check out the beach front directly outside. She wanted to get the proposal out of the way so her palms could stop sweating. We strolled a bit, found a log to sit on, and stared off into the water reflecting on the last 5 years. Michelle’s planned speech went out the window when the conversation naturally turned to how much we love each other and had grown together in the previous 5 years. Michelle slid off the log and down to one knee, pulled out the necklace box revealing a gold necklace engraved with “Nuño” (Olivia always said if we ever got engaged, she’d want to be proposed to with just that.”) Shakily the question came out, and Olivia’s jaw dropped, stuttering “are you for real?” several times before saying YES! The rest of the weekend was absolutely amazing.”
