Spring Black Diamond Gardens Wedding
Katherine and Nolen had a romantic Spring Black Diamond Gardens Wedding in Black Diamond, WA. Prior to their big day, when asked what their favorite part of being together was, they mentioned “making each other feel special, cherished, and free to be fully themselves.” This was so clearly represented across every detail and interaction in their celebration! These two goofballs were so cute. They continuously carried out their playfulness by sticking their tongues out at each other throughout their portraits! This wedding was a true embodiment of the phrase, “marry your best friend.”
Furthermore, this romantic Spring Black Diamond Gardens Wedding had so many little details that were to die for. During the ceremony, Katherine and Nolen unified their love with a gorgeous hand fasting ceremony knot. So unique to them and their connection. Meanwhile, looking around at everyone that was in attendance, you could just feel the love radiating from each human. There were smiles for miles and tears of happiness to fill an ocean.
Surprisingly, the rain decided to take its own vacation for this Spring Black Diamond Gardens Wedding and grant us a clear sky! Quickly, I noticed I was working with two frisky dare devils, that were willing to brave getting on a boat so that I could capture some breathtaking drone shots that will last them a lifetime! However, when setting everything up for Katherine and Nolen to jump into the boat, I came back to find them embraced in a private slow dance to the musical sounds of nature surrounding them.
Katherines dress reached an all-time record for me with 17 bustle clips! It was a gorgeous, yet fairytale gown with floral accents from True Society designed by Miss Stella York. However, with these two EDM lovers raving from the moment they said, “I do” until the lights went out- it was needed! This particular design feature also helped glide them through their first dance as husband and wife, which they had choreographed. It was pure magic to behold!
How they met: “We met through a mutual friend in college. There was an easy attraction that popped up early on, but we stayed “just friends” to keep it from being complicated since she was graduating while I was just starting. After Katherine graduated we both realized we weren’t ready to leave our connection unexplored.”
The Proposal: “We’d gone to get her engagement ring together over a year prior and then we didn’t talk about it much after. I finally found where I wanted to propose and I planned an early morning hike with her in a nature preserve. We were the first people in the park with morning lighting coming down through the trees. We ended up at a lookout that showed all the nearby mountains on the horizon and overlooked the whole valley from above the tree tops and I just waited on a knee behind her while Katherine enjoyed the view, and when she turned around I proposed to her.”
