Megan + Derrick had a stunning Issaquah Backyard wedding that was a true fairytale. Megan looked exactly like Cinderella and her childhood home was created to look like a magical venue from a Disney princess story. Their whole day was filled with smiles, amazing dance moves, a few happy tears, and lots of kisses. Megan and Derrick waited so long for their big day to arrive and the whole day they kept saying “I can’t believe we’re here”. Megan and Derrick were so happy the whole day that nothing at all could bring these two down. Also, I’m now officially in love with clear-roof reception tents- SO glamorous!

Even after meeting these two at their engagement session up at Mt. Rainier last summer, I knew Megan and I were going to be good friends! These two together were so adorable and fun, joking all the time, that it was just so easy being around each other and felt like a puzzle piece. Being their photographer was like capturing a best friend’s wedding day and was beyond fun. It was, I believe, one of the hottest spring days in Issaquah, WA but that didn’t slow us down. Wherever Megan goes, she makes friends and loves on you no matter what and seeing everyone show up for this amazing couple on their wedding day, you can just feel all the love pouring right back to them. It was truly an amazing special day!

A few of my favorite moments were of course when Derrick saw his bride for the first time down the aisle and he was crying a bit 😉 It was so special and even Megan and her dad were tearing up as they were walking down as well. Another amazing moment was when Derrick tipped over the top of their wedding cake and it fell down on the table! Their reactions and everyone’s reactions around them was so hilarious and then Megan just smeared the cake onto Derrick’s face! So funny and I love that shot of them!

Alright, so this is how Megan and Derrick met: “Bumble! We both said “if this doesn’t work out, we are getting off the apps and taking a break from dating.” Well, we got off the apps because we realized this was it!”

And this is how their proposal went down: “Private sleigh ride in Leavenworth followed by a walk in the snow, and then he got down on one knee!” Well done, Derrick!! Something they are looking forward to in their future together: “Adventures! Whether that be travel, home projects, or maybe a baby!”

So a toast to the newlyweds for tying the knot and looking oh so amazing doing it!! Cheers to Megan and Derrick!
