I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Franki and Tyler’s elopement dream came true in Lofoten, Norway, where these two celebrated their love with an intimate adventure. Along with four close friends (and me as their photographer!), we set off from Tromso, embarking on a six-hour drive to Lofoten. The journey was filled with wild, stormy weather, which only added to the drama of the landscape — snow-capped mountains, deep fjords, and endless beauty around every turn.
After arriving in Lofoten, we had a “rehearsal dinner vibe” at a cozy pub, where we raised our glasses to the happy couple. We also literally made a wedding day timeline at this little pub while waiting for dinner. That was the vibe- totally chill, cozy and just an overall relaxing vibe. The next day, Franki and Tyler got ready in a breathtaking Panorama view room at the Thon Hotel, offering an awe-inspiring view of the surrounding mountains and fjords. They shared a first look on the docks, with colorful buildings and traditional red fishing huts adding a charming touch to the backdrop. Franki was already crying when watching Tyler get ready. They are so cute and just love how much they love each other.
We then hit the road to find a little viewpoint pullout that Tyler had previously researched beforehand and added to this google map collection. The ceremony took place at a nearby fjord called Austnesfjorden, where their close friend, Lea, officiated. The views were breathtaking and it was so hard to not shoot there all day! The vows exchanged were deeply personal, emotional, and filled with love. The intimate ceremony was followed by exploring more fjords, including one with a snow-capped mountain perfectly reflecting in the still waters below. I saw the snow-covered mountain reflection spot as we were going to the ceremony spot saying “we HAVE to stop there on the way back!”. And we sure did!
With the time of year, February, we only had 6 hours of daylight for the day, so we got plenty of golden light the whole time. Seriously, the lighting out there is unreal and looked like golden hour the entire time the sun was out. We had a little cloudy haze, but overall- the lighting was unreal and so inspiriting for all the photos. We tried and hoped to see some northern lights while up there, but after waiting awhile in the hotel lobby and watching the radars on our photos, we didn’t’ get to see any, but it truly didn’t matter. Franki and Tyler and the whole gang were just so excited to get the weather we got and everything was gorgeous, perfect, and beyond our wildest dreams.
The weather was a major highlight: the stormy skies leading up to the wedding gave way to clear skies and sunshine on the big day. They truly lucked out! It was and felt like the most perfect day ever. When we had to drive back to Tromso the next day to catch our flights, there was a wild winter snow storm with heavy snow and sleet, but but it only added to the adventure. Seeing a moose, while white hare, and reindeer along the way! Along with breath taking fjords.
This day was a perfect blend of love, nature, and pure adventure. I am incredibly grateful and honored to have been part of this unforgettable experience in Lofoten. Thank you, Franki + Tyler, y’all are AAAAMAAAAZING! Love you guys forever!!
