I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Kenzie and Alex had a gorgeous September Meadowbrook Farm Wedding last year and it was amazing! These two are so adorable together that it was super hard to NOT take their photo! They had their ceremony over at Our Lady of Sorrows in North Bend, WA and then had their reception at the Meadowbrook Farm near the parks and open fields in North Bend overlooking Mt. Si. Their family came from all over and it was so much fun getting to know everyone and have some BBQ together! I loved it when Alex was getting ready with his dad, and he just kept smiling the entire time, the biggest ever, he was totally glowing and I was so excited for him to see his bride!
Kenzie was stunning!! She had the joy of wearing not one wedding dress, but two! Her mother had her dress from when she got married and as a fun thing to do, Kenzie just tried it on during wedding planning, and it fit PERFECTLY. So they had the great idea of wearing her mother’s dress for their ceremony, and then changing into her own gown for reception and portraits. It was so cool and such a special moment for Kenzie and her mom!
After the ceremony at the church, the party started out at Meadowbrook and it was so fun to have a live country band playing during the dancing part of the evening! The golden hour photos are my favorite and the lighting was perfect. According to a few guests who were watching us in the nearby field taking these photos, it looked like we were right behind the dumpsters so they called our golden hour photos ‘dumpster photos’. I was like “oh hell no they are not!” haha Alex and Kenzie are so cool, I loved hanging out with them during their engagement shoot up at Artist Point, and then for their wedding day- I wish it never ended!
Alright, here is how these two cuties got engaged: “We were on a rock climbing trip to the Red River Gorge in Kentucky when Alex proposed. We had just finished climbing for the day and took a short hike to a nearby waterfall. When we got to the waterfall Alex started digging around in his climbing backpack and he pulled out the ring and surprised me! The pictures are funny because my hands were so dirty from climbing all day but it couldn’t have been more perfect for us!”
Here is what they love to do together: “We love hiking, skiing, rock climbing, camping, going on walks, running, and generally exploring Washington! We also like exploring new restaurants and parks around Seattle, visiting our families in Maine and California, and going on trips to different national parks. When we’re not out exploring the world, we enjoy gardening, finding new recipes, and cooking elaborate meals together.”
Kenzie and Alex are just way too cute and we all wish them a huge congratulations!! YAY!
Also, here is a little love note from the couple:
“We could not recommend Sarah Jane more strongly!
We originally found Sarah Jane when looking for a photographer with experience taking pictures in the mountains but we ended up loving her for so many more reasons than that! She was great at communicating with us leading up to our wedding and gave up so much of her time to talk with us about our vision for the wedding, plans for our engagement session, our timeline, and so many other details. She also made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. My husband and I are both awkward and don’t take great pictures so I was very nervous for our wedding/engagement photos but from the second we started working with Sarah Jane, we felt calm and relaxed. She was able to capture us so naturally! Sarah Jane was also extremely helpful on the day of our wedding . She offered to bring the bouquets from the reception venue to our ceremony, she kept our timeline moving along perfectly, and she handled some stressful situations very well. On top of all of that, she is incredibly sweet, friendly, and fun to be around! We absolutely love all of our photos and they are the perfect mix of cute candids, portraits, and shots of the most important moments from our day.” – Kenzie and Alex, 2023
