I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Linda and Steve had a gorgeous Winter Lairmont Manor Wedding in the stunning city of Bellingham, WA. Linda wanted moody and romantic vibes throughout her wedding day and she totally got it! These two got a second shot at love and they are so gosh dark adorable together! This being my first wedding of the year, it really set the bar high for the rest of 2024. Linda and Steve kept calling each other their home and they are so happy that they finally found their home in each other. Okay, brb crying! Steve even started crying just moments before seeing Linda for their first look. Too cute!
Thankfully it wasn’t raining on us as the weather predicted, but these two still had a lovely time together. I love that Linda wore a blue dress instead of the traditional white dress, and they served pumpkin bread to everyone instead of cake. I just loved seeing Steve look at Linda and just get all giddy and vice versa. Such a fun wedding day, great people, and I think their first dance song sums up their day perfectly: “Tell the world that we finally got it all right
I choose you
I will become yours and you will become mine
I choose you
I choose you” – Sara Bareilles, “I Choose You”.
Alright, so here is how these two crazy kids met: ” Our Beginning: Steve’s View: How did a Norwegian Minnesota farm girl from the tiny town of Fertile end up with a big city Dallas, Texan and Connecticut/New Yorker? One answer is Match.com. What? A dating app? We were surprised, too. Aren’t you supposed to meet your soulmate at church? But a better answer to how we met is that in a mysterious way, our faith and an act of grace brought us together. We resonate with the lyrics, “Like a river flows surely to the sea, darling, so it goes, some things are meant to be.” When I first saw photos of Linda on Match, I was stunned by her sparkling eyes. Her eyes and smile showed me an inner light that said something about her sweetness and resilience. The photos showed her glow as she was surrounded by her family. I was hooked. Then, passages from her profile wouldn’t let me go: “I’m a caring sort, sincere and hopelessly honest. Curious, especially about people and their stories. I would say steady with a side of playful fun. Still learning life. Love music and routinely dance like no one is watching (well, no one is),but a partner would be lovely.” We first met at a café in historic La Conner and there she was, just like in her photos, same sparkling eyes, same inner light. And true to her profile, she was sincere and hopelessly honest as we had an engaging and vulnerable first conversation. We walked along the beach at Kukutali Preserve, picking up stones along the water. I remember walking behind her thinking, “I feel totally comfortable.” Like I had known her for a long time. I would have had the second date that same night, but I had to wait six long days. By the third date, I had thoughts of spending our lives together. We put on a lot of miles as we grew closer each week, and six months later I asked her to marry me.”
Okay now I’m crying! Congrats to Linda and Steve for tying the knot and finding your true home 🙂 Cheers!
