I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!

If you’re into moody mountain magic, soaked champagne celebrations, and epic first dances — buckle up. Alyssa + Luke’s Rainy Artist Point Elopement was a two-day rollercoaster of romance, rain, and ridiculous amounts of joy. I got to tag along for the whole adventure, and I’m still buzzing.
Day One:
Okay, picture this: two people madly in love, freshly married at the courthouse over lunch, sneaking away to the mountains for private vows and champagne. Just the three of us — me, Alyssa, and Luke — wandering up Artist Point as the sky opened up and drenched us in the most romantic way possible. Rainy? Absolutely. Perfect? 1000%
Alyssa + Luke had the cutest first look. Luke literally gasped and said, “We’re here! You’re in your wedding dress!” — trying to take it all in.
They read the sweetest, most personal vows with a full-on skiing theme woven in. A few happy tears, lots of laughter, and a feeling like the rain was applauding them too.
After their vows, we played in the rain. We danced, ran, spun, and popped champagne while the light dipped behind the moody PNW mountains. It was cozy, chaotic, and SO them. Just two people madly in love, celebrating their own way. A true Rainy Artist Point Elopement dream.
Day Two:
The next day, it was time to celebrate with their people! Alyssa + Luke threw a full-blown reception bash in Bellingham, WA, with friends and fam flying in from NY, CO, AZ, and beyond. And let me tell you — it was not your typical sit-down-and-mingle kind of party.
They turned their wedding reception into a mini Olympic games. Guests were split into teams and battled it out in wedding-themed charades, frisbee dunking, a relay, and some high-stakes cornhole. The winning team got pizza first, but let’s not forget: Team Baker definitely cheated. IYKYK. Karma’s coming, friends!
Later came the toasts, sweet portraits, and alllll the parent dances. But the highlight? Alyssa and Luke’s self-choreographed first dance that they created in their living room — complete with lifts, twirls, and even a backflip!! It was so good, people were screaming. Literal standing ovation level energy. These two don’t do anything halfway.
We ended the night with signature cocktails, a shot ski, and dancing that went late into the night. Everyone looked like models, the vibes were immaculate, and I got to capture every second of the magic.
Also shoutout to their wedding party: each person wore a pin with a designated task (like drink master, speech-giver, and general hype-person). The maid of honor absolutely crushed her toast with bonus Lord of the Rings references.
Here is a *little* snippet from Kelly, the MOH’s speech: “If I may share a snippet of some heart to hearts Lyss and I had recently- A theme Lyss brought up was the idea of stability. From one Nomad to another- always searching for their sense of belonging, a place to call home, fulfilling work, and stability in places or with chosen partners- Luke, she has found home and stability in you. In this life, you’ve both created in Seattle. Although there will be continued journeys, challenges, job changes, and perhaps a change in where home is on the map- this nomad is at the end of her journey to find home with her partner. At the end of Lord of the Rings, Frodo opts to leave Middle Earth to travel to Valinor, a place where he could find peace, healing, and stability after a long, hard journey. However, the departure was a bittersweet farewell with Frodo and his friends, especially Samwise. I yet again, cannot help but relate this back to Lyss embarking on this new journey of marriage. Of everlasting Love, with her partner by her side. To maintain, stability, peace, and healing. But may I remind you of Gandalf’s quote at this scene, or maybe perhaps Jess or Jenna could recite this with their Gandalf impersonations: ‘Here at last, on the shores of the sea, comes the parting of our fellowship. Do not be sad, do not weep, for not all tears are evil.'” Such an amazing speech Kelly gave, that I had to snag a copy of it for myself to share in this blog post 🙂
Alyssa and Luke smiled the entire time — like, the kind of smiles that make your cheeks hurt just watching. It was so clear how loved they are, and how deeply they love each other.
If you’re dreaming of a wedding that feels completely you — whether it’s drenched in rain, bursting with laughter, or full of inside jokes and dance lifts — this is your sign.
Here’s to more Rainy Artist Point Elopements and love stories as wild and wonderful as Alyssa + Luke’s!!
