I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Desiree and Taylor’s Volunteer Park Conservatory engagement session was everything a spring day in Seattle should be. Sunshine, blooms in every direction, and the kind of light that makes you slow down and take it all in.
We started their session inside the conservatory where the light filtered softly through the glass, wrapping around them in the most natural way. It was warm, calm, and full of texture. The kind of setting that does not need much direction because the moment already feels complete. Desiree and Taylor slipped right into that rhythm, laughing, holding onto each other, and letting the space do what it does best.
From there, we explored the rest of Volunteer Park. The gardens were in full bloom, adding layers of color and movement to every frame. They were especially drawn to the architecture throughout the park, from the clean lines of the conservatory to the sculptural elements that give the space its character. One of the highlights was making our way to the iconic sculpture with a view of the Space Needle perfectly framed in the distance. It is one of those spots that feels distinctly Seattle, and it gave their gallery a sense of place that ties their story to the city.
There were also a few unplanned moments that made the session even more memorable. A small group of ducks wandered through at just the right time, creating a playful interruption that turned into one of those images you cannot plan but always hope for.
There is a quiet steadiness to Desiree and Taylor that shows up in every part of how they move together. It is not performative or overly styled. Just natural, grounded, and easy to be around. The kind of connection that does not need to be directed, only noticed.
I cannot wait to photograph their wedding later this summer here in Seattle. If their engagement session is any indication, it is going to be something really special.
