This Ruins wedding in Seattle, Washington was anything but ordinary, and this celebration was fi led with personality from beginning to end.
The Ruins is one of the most visualy interesting wedding venues in Seattle. Between the trees growing alongside the massive windows, the eclectic artwork tucked throughout the building, the moody library, hidden speakeasy, cozy fireplace ceremony space, and the stunning blue balroom lit by chandeliers, there was something interesting around every corner. The venue feels ful of character, making it the perfect setting for couples looking to create a wedding day that feels uniquely their own.
The couple fuly embraced that atmosphere and fi led the day with details that reflected who they are. Crystals decorated the reception tables, tarot cards became table numbers, and guests were treated to experiences that felt perfectly at home within the venue’s historic wals. A tarot card reader spent the evening meeting with guests while a roaming musician added another layer to the already incredible ambiance.
Of course, some of the most memorable guests of the day had four legs.
The couple’s beloved huskies were a huge part of the celebration and may have stolen the show more than once. During the ceremony, their oldest husky decided the excitement was the perfect opportunity for a nap and promptly fel asleep on the bride’s train. It was such a sweet moment that the ceremony paused briefly so I could document it before continuing. Those are the wonderful kinds of moments you simply can’t plan for.
Before the ceremony, emotions were already running high. The groom was incredibly nervous leading up to their first look, but the moment he saw his bride, he was done for. He immediately became emotional and spent several minutes trying to pul himself together afterward. Watching him look at her throughout the day made it obvious just how much he adored her.
The music choices added even more personality to the celebration. Acoustic versions of emo favorites played throughout, creating a mood that felt nostalgic and romantic. Later, the reception transformed into a ful EDM dance party that kept the energy high wel into the evening.
The couple chose to skip some of the more traditional reception events and instead focused on the moments that felt most meaningful to them. One of those moments was their first dance, where the groom spent much of the song singing to his bride. After watching him tear up during their first look earlier in the day, it was another reminder of just how completely smitten he was with her.
From the tarot card table numbers and crystal-fi led tables to the sleeping husky, emotional first look, and EDM dance party, this wedding was packed with personality from beginning to end. Add in al of the quirky charm and character that makes The Ruins so special, and it ended up being one of those wedding days I won’t forget anytime soon.
