Torin and Heather had a perfect Winter Mt. Rainier Elopement in Ashford, WA last weekend. We started at their gorgeous cabin they rented in Ashford, WA and then we adventured up to a winter Mt. Rainier off the Longmire Road entrance for their mountain top elopement. There unfortunately was an avalanche warning at Rainier so we just stuck around the Longmire Suspension Bridge, but it was absolutely perfect. I can not say enough amazing things about Torin and Heather and the day we had together. We were vibing so great and had such a fun, chill, and relaxing time together that I didn’t want the day to end. Heather and Torin had all the gorgeous details like Torin’s 3rd generation tux that he wore. Three men before him in his family had wore the same tux (with vintage tails) and it was so epic. Heather in her gorgeous beaded gown was out of this world and with her thick stunning curly hair, they both looked like they could have walked right out of the Titanic movie. I loved it when Heather called Torin a “real life Disney Prince” and the two just kept giggling together. It was seriously a perfect moody day in the mountains and I loved working with these two lovebirds and with my favorite videographers, RoamArrow Wedding Films. There were so many tears and emotions throughout their entire day and as I go back and edit it all, I start crying, too, just seeing these two so in love and adorable. It was truly an amazing day and I’m so stoked to share it all with you guys. Their Winter Mt. Rainier Elopement was everything and I’m so stoked to share their highlights below.
These two also had a theme for their elopement: Evergreen. Constantly alive, green, and awake together. They brought along a cute little tree to ‘plant’ during their ceremony to symbolize their rooted marriage. It was so cute and they even had the word “Evergreen” inscribed into their wedding bands. Super stunning!
Usually this is part of the blog post where I like to share their proposal story and how they met, what they love to do together, but Heather and Torin basically wrote books for me about all those topics haha So I’m going to share what they wrote when asked “What is your favorite part about being together?”:
“Heather’s Version: I love absolutely everything. I love the way we joke together, I love the way Torin smirks (there are lots of ways he smirks, each with their own specific meaning), and I love the sound of his voice, and his singing, and his heartbeat, and his depth of character, and his giving nature, and his meticulousness, and his wit, and his integrity. He’s so thoughtful, and so caring. But most importantly, he’s my best friend. We speak our own language, with the same weird words, and codes, and nicknames. He makes me laugh, and I love his mind. His quirks still give me butterflies. There is no such thing as spending too much time with Torin, and I miss him whenever we’re apart.”
“Torin’s Version: My favorite part about being together is getting to experience how wonderful Heather is every day. I think a lot of this comes from some of my favorite things about Heather, so I’ll put them here. I love her caring, compassion, and love for other people. I don’t think she would admit this, but I see it every day. She consistently thinks about what other people need and how she can help them. It’s amazing to see her capacity for empathy and her sense of altruism. She’s a wonderful family member with her relatives, and instantly became part of my family when we started dating. I love her creativity. This touches on so many aspects of who she is, and our relationship. She’s so smart and thinks outside of the box and surprises me frequently when we approach a problem, task, or idea in completely different ways. I love to be surprised by her and she always helps me expand my own perspective. She’s also physically creative with sculpture, painting, calligraphy, crochet, and too many other things to list. I believe she has a rare eye for beauty. I love her passion and drive for personal growth. I’ve never met anyone else with so many ideas and possibilities constantly bouncing around in her head for things she can do, new skills she can learn, or situations she can improve. This ranges from small things like making our balcony more beautiful with some plants all the way to her outlook on life and goals for where she wants to be decades from now. I love that she’s a true dreamer and works to makes her dreams a reality. She somehow manages to balance this so that her aspirations don’t consume her with always wanting “more”, which a I think is truly impressive when I look at so many other people getting caught up in the “rat race”. I love her singing. I love that we can spend all day together singing parts or songs, joking around with harmonies or making a pop song sound like an opera. She’s an excellent singer and always helps me find the right note. These aspects of Heather (and so many more) add up to the wonderful person she is, and I’m so glad to experience that as her partner.”
I can’t handle it!! SO incredibly sweet and beautiful. Enjoy Heather and Torin’s amazing winter Mt. Rainier Elopement below.
