I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Danielle + Paul had a rainy, fall-colored Cabin Creek Lodge wedding out in Easton, WA surrounded by all their awesome friends and family. The weather was not really on our side on their wedding day, but Danielle and Paul got lucky with some gaps in the pouring rain during their wedding party portraits and bridals. They also moved their ceremony under the car-port area in front of the venue and a car port seriously never looked so good! haha Their day had so many gorgeous details, a doughnut wall, a sexy two-piece gown, and all the velvet gowns. So gorgeous! It was also Danielle’s birthday, so Paul surprised her with some birthday candles on their wedding cake, and a t-shirt from the place where they had their first date. So cute and what a special day!
One of my favorite moments throughout their wedding day was not only getting these two with the fall foliage all around them, but during their toasts, there was this clear shot of Danielle and Paul cheer-sing with everyone also holding up their glasses and it’s some of my favorite reception shots. Another moment was when Danielle had a surprise for Paul as well, with his best man dressed up in a wedding gown to surprise him at the first look. It was clever, too, when Danielle was hiding behind her other wedding party members saying things like “I can’t wait to see you!” even when the best man was sneaking up behind him to make Paul think it was really Danielle coming. Super funny and Paul loved it.
So this is how their proposal went down: “Danielle was divorced, so discussing marriage from the start was part of the discussion and therefore we both knew we were serious. We both expected that we would be getting engaged soon after two years, but I can honestly say I didn’t think Paul would ever propose the way he did. Paul had order the engagement ring without realizing the diamond need to be set in the setting (despite selecting them independently) and he wouldn’t get them for weeks. He had to mix up his plans and have the ring delivered to Danielle’s sisters house in California on Christmas Eve without telling anyone! The ring showed up late on Christmas Eve which my sister was super stressed about because she assumed it was a ring, but she was so calm when she came over to our parents house Christmas morning that I didn’t notice anything was up. The family had our normal Christmas morning, opening presents and watching my nephews play with some of the toys when Paul took a knee in our living room but not facing me. He was facing my family and was sharing how I can into his life and changed the outlook of his world and how much he appreciated that because it made him feel more like himself after dealing with his ankle injury. Then he turned to me and poured out his heart then told me he had one more present for me and handed me a small wrapped box, I struggled to open it due to shaking and the amount of tape on the box, he opened it for me and handed the box back to me and start to get joked up then asked me to marry him, before he knew it I had leaped onto him just beaming and lightly squealing, but then I realized i forgot to say yes! We sat and held each other crying as my family got champagne ready for a toast!”
When asked what they look forward to in their future together, “We look forward to being US as one in everything we do. We just bought our first home and we look forward to making renovations/decorating so it feels like us. We really want to travel to new places together. I think everyone who knows us knows we both want to have a family someday and we can’t wait to head into that adventure together.”
Cheers + Congrats, Danielle + Paul!!
