I’m known for capturing those didn’t-know-you-were-there shots and busting a move on the dance floor just to get those perfect candids. I also work with you to ensure we incorporate your style and story into your engagement and wedding photos!
Avery and Johnny’s Puyallup engagement session was one of those evenings that felt effortlessly calm from start to finish.
We met at a small park surrounded by trees and open fields, with soft light filtering through in that classic Pacific Northwest way. The setting felt quiet and tucked away, which gave the entire session a relaxed pace right from the beginning.
These two slipped into it easily. Nothing felt rushed or overly directed, and that always makes a difference. The way they interacted carried the session without needing much else.
The best moments came naturally. Any time there was a pause or a bit of space, Johnny would pull Avery in and start twirling her around like it was second nature. He mentioned he’s not much of a dancer, but you wouldn’t know it from the way he moved with her. It was lighthearted and consistent throughout the evening, and it brought such an easy energy to everything.
We spent time moving between open fields and tree-lined paths, letting the scenery shift without forcing anything. Dandelion fluff drifted through the air here and there, catching the light in a way that almost didn’t feel real. It added just enough movement to an already soft, quiet setting.
As the light started to drop, everything slowed down even more. Those last moments of the session felt especially calm, with longer pauses and a more natural rhythm between them.
It was simple in all the right ways. A quiet location, soft light, and two people who clearly enjoy being around each other without needing much direction.
Looking ahead to their wedding this fall, it is easy to imagine that same energy carrying through the entire day.
